5 Sessions – Wednesdays: September 28; October 5, 12, 19; and November 2.
Have you ever been mesmerized watching a ceramic artist work at the wheel and turn lumps of clay into vessels? This class offers you an opportunity to get your hands dirty and gain hands-on experience with wheel throwing. Learn the foundations of wheel throwing, including wedging, centering, pulling walls and shaping forms. You will create finished, glazed ceramic pieces. Materials included.
Instructor: Josephine Mette Larsen is a Danish-American ceramic artist who has split living periodically in the U.S. and Europe for the past 10 years. Larsen holds a BA in Design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in Denmark and an MFA in Ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. She moved to Philadelphia at the beginning of 2022 to undertake a long-term residency at The Clay Studio.
