GFS

Tackle the challenge of bamboo management with expert guidance! Join GFS Director of Horticulture Janis Napoli for this two-hour workshop and gain insight into how the GFS Horticulture team manages bamboo on the grounds. You’ll learn techniques for bamboo stand perimeter reduction, thinning, shoot removal, and runner management. You’ll also discover how we repurpose our bamboo and get a chance to split it into garden hoops to take home! This is a hands-on workshop – you will be cutting and splitting bamboo on the grounds using both hand and power tools. Come dressed for the weather and for working in the garden. All equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own gloves if you have them. This workshop is open to gardeners of all levels of experience. Admission included.
